Dear GICO Members,
This communication serves to formally inform the membership of the established regulations pertaining to fundraising activities conducted by individuals affiliated with this community organization. A matter of considerable concern has emerged regarding the “Kitchen” initiative, which was originally conceived as a benevolent endeavor to provide beverages and food by the female constituency in our community to provide support and sustenance to bereaved families.
This initiative has, regrettably, undergone a transformation into an unauthorized mechanism for financial solicitation, thereby deviating significantly from its foundational principles and initial conceptual framework.
The current operational paradigm of this initiative is deemed to be inconsistent with its originally articulated design and purpose. Consequently, it is formally requested that all members who may be deriving benefit from this activity immediately cease the practice of soliciting funds through this particular channel, as such practices have been observed to impose an undue and cumulative financial burden upon the general membership. The potential for individuals to be subjected to multiple solicitations and contributions across various communal affiliations is acknowledged as a source of considerable imposition and potential hardship.
Therefore, the GICO committee hereby affirms its commitment to the judicious implementation and rigorous enforcement of its established regulations as deemed necessary to mitigate the proliferation of this undesirable practice. Should an individual member possess a strong inclination to provide financial assistance, it is recommended that such contributions be extended in a private capacity, directly to the individual concerned, in a manner consistent with personal discretion and without broader solicitation that involves online fundraising and updating of such records on forums like WhatsApp. We hope this is the first step in protecting our members who are also asked to act and respond accordingly to these initiatives since they have already done their solemn duty of being active members in our community groups.
